Polovrak 2022

2022 started perfectly in Bulgaria weatherwise - it is sunny and warm and I like it! On the first Sunday of the year husband, daughter and I chose to hike a low and very delightful nearby mountain - Lozen, and to climb its highest peak Polovrak (allegedly, according to some maps Popov Del, an obscure height within a forest is 8 meters higher :)

Polovrak is one of our favourite spots and we climb it regularly once or twice a year, but we have never seen it as crowded as today. We barely found a place to park the car at the parking lot in the end of the village of Lozen - it was just stunning how many people had chosen a walk on Lozen for their start of the year. And good for them - after all of the eating and drinking these last weeks we all need some fresh air, exercise and sunshine and there were plenty of those on the Lozen mountain trail.

:Unlike Plana, the snow on Lozen had completely melted and we enjoyed dry and easy tracks with some good elevation gain to the top.
