Boyana Waterfalls 2020

In the middle of the long weekend, on our Unification Day, husband, Alex and I decided to go to a much beloved and visited place on Vitosha - the Boyana waterfalls. Although it is the end of summer and the rivers on Vitosha are not full-watered, the waterfall is still beautiful and spectacular. We started early and managed to reach the place and even have a light brunch before the crowds of tourists, that we met on the way back, had arrived.

Husband and I have been to the Boyana waterfalls many times and because we were sure we knew the trail, on the way back we took the wrong track at a junction and ended making a big circle, before returning back on course. When hiking in unknown or less traveled mountains we often check our GPS or the markings on the trails, but to get lost on the way back from the Boyana waterfalls - that was simply ridiculous - but that's what happens when when you bring your hubris in the mountains :)
