Cabled Top

Finally finished this sweater! I started it in February after seeing Elving's Autumn Apples. I was smitten with her cables and color and immediately started the same, not taking into account my own complexion. However, after a few days into it I realized that this yellow was definitely not my color, so I switched to orange and added a few stitches, as the yellow was a bit narrow. And it went fairly smoothly on, until I knit the body and the sleeves and was about to start the yoke. But I couldn't decide - long or 3/4 sleeves, long or short sweater, do I need this sweater at all. I had gotten tired of it and had other knits on my mind. So I froze it, thinking of unraveling it, but putting the final judgement off for a awhile.

Then came autumn and I even frogged a little bit of it to recover the new ball of orange Cashmira I had just started in order to use it for my Sophia Loren Riverside Pullover. And then I just decided to finish it - after all what was left was actually the interesting part - the yoke. I bought two more balls of orange Cashmira and began adding length to the body and the sleeves, deciding on a long sweater. Frankly, after finishing it, I was a bit disappointed that I made it that long - definitely not my style, but putting it on today with skinny jeans and boots I love it!, I might have made it even longer.

Pattern: Cabled Top by Faina Goberstein from the Art of Seamless Knitting, customized to use a different cable pattern (modified Elving's pattern)
Yarn: Alize Cashmira color 36, 330 g
Needle: 3.5 mm, 4 mm body

The pattern is very detailed and excellently written. That said, I followed it quite loosely, making my own calculations and modifications to fit my body.

The"tattoo" on the back - such an ingenious idea!!! I moved it's placement between the two rows of decreases, as I think it sits there better positioned.
