Rendezvous on Myconos Schmidt Puzzle

Last week was a ve-e-ery long weekend in Bulgaria, Easter plus St. George's Day, a whole 10-days mini-vacation (for some). Students had their Easter holidays, Gaby's boyfriend was visiting us and all in all it was a very nice, festive and fun week. I hadn't assembled puzzles in years, so I decided it was the ideal time to open one of my latest acquisitions - it is a Sam Park's picture, made into a 1000 pcs puzzle by Schmidt.

I opened the puzzle on May 1st and finished it on May 10th - it took me the whole 10 day vacation to assemble it, slowly and gradually placing a piece here and there. I enjoyed the process, but I think I'm ready to part with my puzzles, as I've gathered quite a collection and I don't see myself assembling them a second time - somehow my heart is not so much into puzzles any more.

Some process pictures - this is from May 5th

On May 7th I had assembled most of the pieces

On the morning of May 10th - I finished it later that day.

I have one more unopened puzzle to assemble and I plan not to buy any more puzzle before I have done it, who knows when. It is curious how hobbies come and go :)

Thomas Kinkade Puzzle

To observe the family tradition - a new puzzle for the New Year holidays. This one was more difficult than the other 1000 pcs. Schmidt puzzles we have, which is a plus, as it took us me more days to assemble. So far Schmidt puzzles remain my favourite brand - unique pieces, various forms and shapes, beautiful pictures.
And some of them, as this one, even come in a metal box.

Cagnes-sur-Mer Puzzle

Puzzle: Cagnes-sur-Mer by Sam Park
Manufacturer: Schmidt 1000 pcs.

This is the last of the three 1000 pcs. Sam Park puzzles we bought last month. A few happy early mornings, after I've sent the children to school and while drinking my morning coffee and watching some popular science tv program. So now I associate the assembly of the ark with the story of the Cologne cathedral and the flower bunch to the left with the family history of a contemporary British artist :)

This puzzle came in a metal box. I hadn't seen that before - I like it!

Castello di Verrazzano Puzzle

Puzzle: Castello di Verrazzano by Sam Park
Manufacturer: Schmidt 1000 pcs.

Schmidt 1000 is definitely my kind of puzzle - various puzzle forms, doable, yet not too easy to assemble, beautiful pictures. I might get addicted to these puzzles :)

This one took me longer to assemble than some of the previous ones. I did it on my own and somewhat leisurely, taking small chunks of time to place a piece or dozen.

Venice Puzzle

Name: Venice by Sam Park
Brand: Schmidt, 1000 pcs
Time to assemble: one day

January 18th, early in the morning

I LOVE Venice!!! Or at least my idea of it, as I still haven't been there. The assembling of this puzzle was such a delight and it constantly reminded me of Lara Croft II, the Venice adventure, which is one of my most favorite Lara Croft locations :)

January 18th, midday

Not only is the puzzle so colorful and pleasant, but it is also only 1000 pcs., so it somehow got assembled in between work only in the course of a day.

January 18th, late in the evening

This is our first Schmidt puzzle and we are very pleased with it. The pieces are cut into all shapes and forms and there is almost no danger of misplacement, everything fits very neatly. And the variety of pictures is also great.
There was a promotion in a local book store, so we bought three 1000 pcs. Schmidt puzzles. It was probably a good thing that half of the items on our wish list were already sold out :)
