Kladnitza - probably the most beautiful autumn trail on Vitosha. This Saturday's hike was our forth in a row along this trail at this time of the year, with which we replaced another gorgeous, but shorter and easier trail in the same region - Bosnek. Despite Weather.com (the eternal pessimists!) forecasts for cloudy weather with chances of rain, the day was warm and very, very sunny and our winter jackets (and hats and gloves) stayed in the backpacks most of the time.
The elm forests on the southern slopes of Vitosha were dark orange and looked breathtakingly glowing, lighted by the sun.
Hike info:
Destination: round trail Kladnitza

Total length: 15.5 km
Elevation gain: 500 m
Total duration (plus picnic and rests): 5 hours

Me-made items, worn on this hike:
A clear sign of the below zero temperatures at nighttime at the end of the year
We had our picnic on these tables by the Bear's Fountain shelter
The meadows of the plateau - my most favourite part of the trail. I adore this place!
This year winter came early in the high mountains, Rila is already covered with snow
