Mother's Day Greeting Card

A cross stitch greeting card I made for my mother for the widely celebrated in Bulgaria international women's day - the 8th of March. I couldn't find a suitable aperture card with big enough aperture for my cross stitch, so I cut the card from a big sheet of aquarelle cardboard.

Canvas: Aida 14
Floss: a mixture of DMC, Ariadna and Rosace

  1. That was creative. Did you cover up the inside? How'd you mount the fabric?

    1. Thank you! I glued the fabric to the aperture of the card, the card itself is threefold, the aperture is in the center part and the first part covers the fabric.

  3. Beautiful! Does your mother do needlework too? You're so skilled and prolific, I'm wondering if it was your mother who taught you.

    1. Thank you, Gail! My mother does some knitting and sewing, but reluctantly, crafts aren't her thing. She says I take after my great grand mother, whom I barely remember. My sister and my daughter are not into needlework either, probably it skips a generation or two in my extended family :)
